Learn on the real thing.
For free.
Full Hunter Pro, free for verified students, faculty, university CTF teams, and security clubs. Not a crippled student edition — the exact $499/yr workstation working hunters use, so you graduate already fluent in the tool you'll reach for on the job.
The whole tool.
Zero dollars.
Most "student editions" are demos with the good parts removed. This isn't that. You get the complete Hunter Pro — the same active, mobile, and agent layers a working bug-bounty hunter pays for — because you can't learn a workflow on a tool that won't run it.
Full Hunter Pro.
No asterisks.
Active scanner, Attack Studio, Beacon/OAST, mobile + Frida, JA3 browser-impersonation transport, Identity Shadow Replay, the MCP server, and the full CLI. Everything the paid tier ships — no "academic limitations."
Free tier is yours
forever.
Even after you graduate or a license lapses, the Free tier — a real intercept proxy, Repeater, Decoder, unlimited plugins, project import — stays. Your captures and projects don't evaporate when the Pro layer does.
Learn the
pro workflow.
You're not learning a teaching toy you'll abandon at your first job. You're learning the actual tool — so day one in the field, the proxy, Repeater diffing, scanner, and agent loop are already muscle memory.
Local-first.
No telemetry.
Runs on your machine; your data stays put. Use it on lab targets, CTF infra, and authorized research without phoning anything home. No account required for the Free tier underneath.
Everyone learning the craft.
If you're studying, teaching, or competing in offensive security at an accredited institution, you qualify. One verified academic email and you're in — no procurement, no minimum, no catch.
Students.
Enrolled at a university or college with a .edu (or national equivalent). Free Hunter Pro for coursework, labs, self-study, and your own hunting on authorized targets.
Faculty & instructors.
Teaching web security, pentesting, or AppSec? Free Pro for you, plus lab and classroom licenses so your whole section works on the real thing instead of a screenshot.
CTF & CCDC teams.
University CTF and collegiate cyber-defense teams get team licenses for the season — the mobile, scanner, and agent tooling that wins web and recon categories.
Security clubs.
OWASP student chapters, hacking clubs, cyber societies. Equip your members and run workshops on a tool they can keep using after the meeting ends.
Researchers.
Grad students and academic researchers doing authorized security research. Publishing? We'd be glad to be cited — and to hear what you found.
Whole courses.
Building a syllabus around web-app security? Talk to us about a course program — bulk licensing, lab setup, and teaching materials built around Crusader's workflow.
One email.
One verification.
No procurement portal, no sales call. Apply with your academic email, prove you're real, get your key. Re-verify once a year and the license follows you through your whole degree.
Apply.
Email us from (or with) your academic address — your role (student, faculty, team, or club), your school, and what you'll use it for. A couple of sentences is plenty.
Verify.
A current student ID, an enrollment letter, a faculty/staff page, or a reply from your .edu — whatever shows you're current. Quick and human, not a bureaucratic gauntlet.
Activate.
We send a CRSDR-… key. Paste it into License & billing in the app, or run crusader license activate, and the full Pro layer unlocks.
Renew.
Academic years end; we re-verify annually so the free license tracks your enrollment. Graduate, and the Free tier stays yours — ask us about a paid seat when you're earning bounties.
Honest answers.
No catch.
The questions students and instructors actually ask. If yours isn't here, email education@crusaderproxy.com and a human will answer.
Is this the full Pro, or a limited student build?
The complete Hunter Pro, every feature. The only difference from a paid license is that it's free and tied to your academic status — no watermark, no feature gates, no "academic mode."
Can I use it for paid client work?
The academic license is for study, teaching, research, and CTFs — not paid engagements. For paid client work, Crusader's Free tier already permits commercial use, or pick up a paid Pro license (there's a Founder's deal running). Keep the two separate and we're all good.
What counts as proof of enrollment?
An academic email plus any current proof — student ID, enrollment letter, transcript header, or a faculty/staff directory page. We keep verification light; we're not trying to make this hard.
What happens when I graduate?
Your Pro license ends at the next yearly re-verification, but the Free tier — a genuine daily-driver proxy — stays forever, with every project and capture intact. When you're hunting professionally, email us about transitioning to a paid seat.
I'm an instructor — can I license my whole class?
Yes. Tell us the course, rough headcount, and term, and we'll set up classroom/lab licenses. We can also share teaching materials and example workflows built around Crusader.
Do you support CTF teams during competitions?
Yes — team licenses for the season. Name your team and the event(s) when you apply and we'll size it right.
My school is outside the US — do I still qualify?
Absolutely. .edu isn't required — any accredited institution's domain works (.ac.uk, .edu.au, and equivalents). If your domain is unusual, email us and we'll verify another way.
Why give it away?
Two honest reasons. Selfishly: hunters who learn on Crusader keep using it — we'd rather earn the next generation than gate them out. Less selfishly: a good offensive-security tool shouldn't be paywalled out of a student's reach. Both are true.
Verify once.
Hunt free.
Email us from your academic address with your role, your school, and what you're working on. We'll get your Hunter Pro key out to you — usually within the week.
