Terms of Service
Effective June 12, 2026
The short version. Use Crusader only against systems you own or are explicitly authorized to test — you are responsible for staying lawful and in scope. The software is licensed, not sold, and during public beta it is provided as-is. Paid plans renew until you cancel. The full terms are below; the authorized-use section (03) is the one that matters most.
01Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and [Crusader legal entity] ("Crusader", "we", "us") governing your use of the Crusader desktop application, the crusaderproxy.com website, and related services (together, the "Service"). By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
02The software & your license
Crusader is licensed, not sold. Subject to these Terms and the plan you hold, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Crusader on the number of seats your plan permits, for your internal security-testing purposes.
You may not, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits: (a) resell, sublicense, rent, or redistribute the software; (b) reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble it; (c) circumvent, disable, or tamper with licensing, seat limits, or trial mechanisms; (d) remove or alter proprietary notices; or (e) use the Service to build a competing product. Each paid seat is for one individual user; seats may be reassigned but not shared concurrently.
04Public beta
Crusader is currently offered as a public beta. The Service is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis, may contain bugs or incomplete features, may change, break, or be discontinued without notice, and should not be relied upon for production-critical or safety-critical workflows. Features, limits, channels, and pricing may change as the product develops. We appreciate bug reports and feedback, and may use feedback you provide to improve the Service without obligation to you.
05Plans, billing & renewals
Paid plans (including Hunter Pro, Squad, Team Pro, and Enterprise) are billed in advance for the subscription term, which is annual unless stated otherwise. Payments are processed by Stripe. Applicable taxes may be added.
Subscriptions automatically renew at the then-current price for the same term unless you cancel before the renewal date. The Founder's Edition is $249 for the first year and renews at the standard Hunter Pro price ($499/year, or the then-current rate) thereafter. You may cancel at any time, effective at the end of your current paid term; you keep paid access through that term and then move to the free tier. We may change prices for future terms with reasonable notice.
06Refunds
Because every paid plan is preceded by a 14-day, no-card free trial that unlocks the full feature set, paid subscriptions are generally non-refundable once charged. That said, if something goes wrong, email billing@crusaderproxy.com within 14 days of a charge and we will review refund requests in good faith on a case-by-case basis. Statutory refund and withdrawal rights that apply to you (for example, EU/UK consumer rights) are unaffected by this section.
07Free tier & your data
The free tier is provided at no charge and is intended to remain available, but its scope may change over time. Your locally-stored projects, captures, identities, comments, and plugins are yours and remain on your device regardless of whether you are on a free or paid plan, and regardless of whether your paid plan lapses. We do not time-bomb, watermark, or wipe your local data.
08Intellectual property & third-party software
Crusader, the Crusader name and logo, the website, and the software (excluding third-party and your own content) are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you no rights in our marks or software except the limited license in section 02.
Crusader incorporates third-party open-source components, each governed by its own license. A list is provided in the THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES file distributed with the application. Certain capabilities rely on tools downloaded at runtime from their upstream sources (for example Frida, tls-client, and SecLists); those tools are governed by their own licenses and are not redistributed by us.
09Plugins & your content
You retain ownership of the projects, findings, notes, and plugins you create. If you choose to publish a plugin or content to a Crusader marketplace or shared channel, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, display, and distribute it for that purpose, and you represent that you have the right to share it and that it is not malicious, infringing, or unlawful. We may remove content that violates these Terms.
10Acceptable use of the website & services
You agree not to misuse our website, update servers, license servers, or other infrastructure — including by attempting unauthorized access, overwhelming or disrupting them, probing or scanning them without permission, or interfering with other users. (Test the targets you're authorized to test — not ours.)
11Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, that defects will be corrected, or that the Service will detect every vulnerability or produce complete or accurate results. You are responsible for how you interpret and act on the Service's output.
12Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CRUSADER AND ITS SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (a) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (b) US$100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
13Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Crusader and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your content or plugins; (c) your violation of these Terms or any law; or (d) your testing of any system without proper authorization.
14Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access or license if you materially breach these Terms — in particular for unlawful or unauthorized use — or as required by law. On termination, the license in section 02 ends, but sections that by their nature should survive (including 03, 08, 11, 12, 13, and 15) will survive. Your locally-stored data remains on your device.
15Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of [governing jurisdiction], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts of [venue] will have jurisdiction, except where mandatory local law gives you other rights. Before filing any formal dispute, you agree to first contact us at legal@crusaderproxy.com so we can try to resolve it informally.
16Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We will revise the effective date above and, for material changes, provide notice through the app, the website, or by email where appropriate. Your continued use of the Service after an update takes effect means you accept the revised Terms.
